Dr. Andrew Tran
Our dentist, Dr. Tran, grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology from UNC Charlotte. He attended and earned his DDS degree at the UNC School of Dentistry, where he met his wife, Dr. Zuleika Javed.
After working as associate dentists at various dental practices, Dr. Tran and Dr. Javed established Serene Dental Spa. Their goal with both Serene Dental Spa and Marshville Family Dentistry is to remove patients’ dental anxieties so they can achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. They provide dental services in a serene spa-like environment with a caring, compassionate staff.
In his spare time, Dr. Tran mentors kids in his youth group and volunteers with the Mission of Mercy clinic. He also indulges his inner foodie through cooking, trying out restaurants, and watching the Food Network. Dr. Tran enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing ultimate frisbee, exercising, seeing movies, riding motorcycles, and playing with his dogs (Mocha, Latte, and Punk).

Dr. Zuleika Javed
Dr. Zuleika Javed obtained her DDS degree from the UNC School of Dentistry in 2012. After working for a short period in Wilmington, she married her classmate and co-owner of Marshville Family Dentistry, Dr. Andrew Tran. Following years of experience as an associate dentist for multiple dental practices, Dr. Javed and her husband decided to start their own dental practice in Weddington near Waxhaw.
Dr. Javed’s vision of exceptional dental care offers a distinctive departure from a typical dental office. From the spa-esque décor and soothing music to the inviting, tranquil ambiance, patients can feel comfortable and relaxed while receiving the desired dental care. “We desire to bring a personal touch back to the dental field. Every patient should feel like a guest,” says the soft-spoken dentist. Dr. Javed spent her childhood and education in Raleigh. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry at NC State in Raleigh.
Her contribution to the community extends to spending time in volunteer activities, such as Mission of Mercy clinics, and joining the team to organize and plan multiple charity events. She also helped undergraduate students prepare in their pursuit of professional schools. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and three dogs (Mocha, Latte, and Punk). Dr. Javed loves staying active with her husband, whether during an outdoor activity or at their local gym. Her second passion is traveling, and whenever she returns, she tells exciting stories about her trips.

Dr. Hoang
Dr. Hoang completed his Bachelor of Science at Portland State University in Portland, OR, then moved to Chapel Hill, NC, to start his healthcare career journey in the pharmacy program and explore what the East Coast had to offer. During his time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was Dr. Tran’s housemate, where they participated in multiple Mission of Mercy events. Dr. Hoang provided pharmaceutical care services, and Dr. Tran provided dental care to the underserved communities.
This is where his interest in oral health care intensified as he witnessed patients’ satisfaction after treatments and wondered what it would be like to be an oral health care provider. He finished his pharmacy program with distinction and worked as a pharmacy manager for two years in North Carolina before moving back to Portland and continuing his role.
While in Portland, Dr. Hoang’s uncle was diagnosed with tongue cancer and received excellent treatment from the dental and oral surgery team. This was another pivotal event that influenced Dr. Hoang’s decision to go back to school to become an oral health care provider. He moved to the Bay Area to pursue his dental education at the University of California San Francisco.
With a collaborative approach, Dr. Hoang looks forward to working closely with other providers and staff to help you with all your oral health care needs, answer any concerns you might have, and provide support every step of the way.
Outside of work, Dr. Hoang is interested in watercolor paintings, home improvement projects, hiking/biking, music, and traveling. His favorite dessert is ice cream, and his favorite place to visit is Japan.

Michelle has been a part of our team since 2017. She is originally from New Hampshire, but she has been in this area for over 20 years. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, bowling, and playing pool. Michelle has over 25 years of experience in the dental field and has always loved smiles. A fun fact about Michelle is that she is terrified of amphibians and flying in an airplane.
Brooke, Dental Assistant
Brooke is the newest addition to our team, she joined us April of 2022. Brooke is originally from New York but has been in North Carolina for over 12 years. She enjoys cooking, gardening, and spending time outside. She is an avid animal lover and wants to continue to add animals to her farm. A fun fact about Brooke is she loves watching true crime and murder mystery shows and movies.
Dee Dee, Financial Coordinator
Dee Dee has been with Marshville Family Dentistry siavnce 2015. She is originally from Florida but has been living in this area for over 22 years now. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. Dee Dee would like to eventually travel around the world. She has been helping and providing patients with the knowledge they need about their insurance benefits since 1992. A fun fact about Dee Dee is she is fluent in three languages.
Tracy, RDH
Tracy has been in dentistry since 1995, and is a Marshville native. She has been married to her husband Steve since 1995, and have two sons and three dogs. Tracy enjoys thrifting, creating crafts, and trying new restaurants.
Morgan, RDH
Morgan has been in dentistry since 2016, she is an Anson County native. Morgan is married to Sam, and together they have two young children. Morgan loves talking, and getting know all her patients. On her free time she enjoys thrifting.
